Hong Kong Digital Photography WorkshopThe private workshop that hosted more than 500 participants in New York City has now come to Hong Kong! If you have a new digital camera, tend to leave your camera on Automatic or just want to accelerate your skill level, then this workshop is for you! The course will take you from “point-and-pray” to understanding how to use the key features of your camera as well as learning several composition techniques so you can start creating well-composed shots as well as ensuring you capture the moment when you find yourself in the right place at the right time. Many attendees have taken this course after buying a new digital camera, when considering buying a new one, or before going on vacation to ensure they come back with photographs that they are happy showing to others! The private workshop consists of 2 sessions: Session 1 (4 hours) will cover the foundation level technical and composition skills including camera fundamentals such as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, and how to control each of these. We will also cover topics such as metering, focus control and the most frequently used functions of the camera. By the end of this session you will be able to use the main camera features to start creating better images and you will be given further opportunity to practice these via some exercises to complete before the second session. Session 2 (4 hours) will start with a review of the exercises. We will then go on to look at more advanced technical knowledge such as white balance and histograms, as well as concentrating on more advanced composition and outdoor lighting techniques to make the most of combining natural light and flash. We will take a closer look at the keys to successful portrait photography and street photography. At opportune moments during the workshop sessions, we will discuss general topics like camera care, equipment choices and camera functionality and also how to start selling images if there is interest. The total price is HK$4000 per person. You can also take advantage of the refer-a-friend program so, if you refer a friend, and they attend the workshop, we’ll give you HK$200 cash. Both sessions must be taken within a 4 week timeframe (pending availability). Adobe Photoshop Lightroom – Digital Post Processing – BasicDPP Basic level is intended for photographers new to industry-standard software for managing and editing images. This course will give you a good level of knowledge on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom including image management, basic editing skills, printing basics and image exporting. You must have a laptop and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom in order to take this course. As computer literacy tends to vary from individual to individual, the course will initially last 2 hours. Additional hours are available by arrangement. The total price is HK$1000 per person. Adobe Photoshop CS – Digital Post Processing – IntermediateDPP Intermediate level is intended for photographers who want to accelerate their knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. This course will cover essential image workflow tools e.g. layers and adjustments; correction tools e.g. cloning and content-aware fill; and transform tools e.g. warp and perspective. You must have a laptop and Adobe Photoshop CS5 in order to take this course. As computer literacy tends to vary from individual to individual, the course will initially last 2 hours. Additional hours are available by arrangement. The total price is HK$1000 per person. Portfolio ReviewIf you are seeking the independent view of a third party on your work, perhaps before a presentation to apply for future assignments or just for discussion about possible improvements on particular images, then consider a portfolio review. The session lasts 1 hour and will be centred specifically around the images you bring. Your portfolio can be presented in whatever format you feel applicable. The total price is HK$350 per person.
