About “Check Me In”
What does it do?
The ability to perform a ‘roll call’ seems to be a much-requested capability that Meetup.com has chosen not to implement, and as it was something that my photography meetup group really needed, so I built it using Meetup’s API. Then I thought, why stop there, maybe it could be useful for other Meetup Organizers, so it is now open to everyone at no charge.

The Check Me In site offers Meetup Group Organizers three capabilities:
1. a list of the groups for which they are Organizers along with Upcoming and Recently Happened meetups.
2. a list of all of the individuals who have RSVPed along with their Check-In status and the ability to Check-In attendees
3. the ability to add Attendees who did not RSVP for the event. Note that given the way that the Meetup API has been built, this capability is limited. Organizers may only RSVP on behalf of a member if the member is one of the 150 most recently active.
The Check Me In site also offer regular Meetup Group members with the ability to check themselves in as well as see a list of the other people that are attending, their check in status and their group bio, all on the same page.
What devices can I use it on?
The Check Me In site has been checked to work in Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox desktop browsers as well as the iPhone, iPad and Blackberry devices. There is no technical reason why is should not work on Android-powered smartphones either but it has not been tested for this.
How do I get access?
The Check Me In site is currently in Beta and can be accessed at http://www.samchadwickphoto.com/meetup/. If it is your first time visiting the site, you will be asked to Grant Access to the application. This process enables the site to identify who you are and display the appropriate Meetup Events. Don’t worry, you can click here at any time to revoke access.
Where can I make suggestions or report bugs?
Please feel free to send me an email or alternatively, add your comments to the thread on the Meetup Forum (click here). As this is something I built for free, please do not ‘expect’ all of your suggestions to be implemented. Similarly, I may not be able to fix all bugs immediately.
