It's 6.15 am and the coffee at the Best Western in tiny town of Lone Pine California has been gulped down. Yesterday we were in Yosemite National Park retracing the footsteps of Ansel Adams. Today we are off to photograph Death Valley and then on to Las Vegas after nightfall. Those are some long distances in the car but the scenery is incredible, especially the drive across the Tioga Pass.

I took a moment recently to migrate my Blog from Blogger to Wordpress. Now that's better!
edit: having moved just my blog, I decided it was either all or nothing, and hence I've decided to move my entire site to Wordpress. It will take a while to transport it all over, but hopefully not too long!
The weather for the long weekend in Malaysia was... well... completely unsuitable for outdoor photography. So what is there to do instead? EAT!
Malaysia is famous for its food, so that's what became our focus for 4 days. Here is a flash slideshow of the top 30 local dishes. All of them were absolutely delicious.
Despite the less than desirable weather - a combination of rain, extreme humidity and the smoke from Indonesian farmers burning their fields between harvests - we managed to get a few landscape shots of Penang. You can see some of the smog/mist along the horizon of the first picture which was taken from the high ground of Kek Lok Si temple looking out over Georgetown.

I ran across the Sylights iPad app completely by accident and have found it really useful for creating lighting diagrams to explain setups to others. And even better, it's free.
