Weekend in Macau

No gambling this time. Instead my first trip to Macau was to take photographs (no surprise there, I hear you say). Unfortunately, however, the weather was not on our side and the mixture of drizzle and rain continued almost non-stop throughout the two days – just like an average weekend in London actually.

Macau is an amazing mixture of old Portuguese heritage and Chinese influence, and then of course the modern structures popping up that house the vast casinos and hotels. In fact, what is quite amazing is how fast they are reclaiming the land on which the new hotels stand; so fast in fact that even Google Maps can’t keep up with it – it still shows as water on the street map, even though the satellite shows clearly that there is now land there.
